ATB provides each of our clients a truly tailored building experience resulting in a one of a kind custom home. Our homes provide a thermally sealed envelope reducing energy bills as much as 80%. Compared to traditional homes, our Net-Zero homes are superior structures resistant to tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, forest fires and termites, while delivering lower overall operational cost, lower frequency of maintenance and results in a very quiet, comfortable and healthy home.

Austin Touchstone Builders has experience building with heavy gauge steel up to 5 stories, light gauge steel framing for interior walls & radius roof systems, solar power systems for “off grid” and “net metering”, natural well or rain collection water systems.  We have extensive experience constructing homes on steep sloping hills and in flood plains, on ranch land or local communities with architectural styles of Contemporary, Mediterranean, Craftsman, Ranch, and more.

Consulting Builder Program

Many of our clients have concerns about building a high-performance, responsibly sized home on a fixed budget.

ATB offers a consulting program where we consult with the clients, their architect, and or engineer during the design phase to make their performance and durability goals easier and cost effective.  The clients pay a consulting fee only if they choose to go with a different Builder. If the clients choose to build with ATB, the consulting fee is incorporated into the Builder fee.  Working with the architects and or engineers during the process of designing the home is a key factor in keeping costs down while still building a high performing, healthy and durable home within the client’s budget.

Net-Zero Consulting For Builders

Austin Touchstone Builders offer consulting services to other builders, outside of its service area in Central Texas, to aid builders in achieving net zero or net zero ready home builds, for their clients. Austin Touchstone Builders will look at the existing projects' plans, design, and engineering to advise the builder in the necessary changes needed to take the build to net zero or net zero ready.

ATB's net-zero and net-zero homes are all certifiable with the U.S. Department of Energy of which ATB is a Partner.  Each U.S. Department of Energy certified ATB home comes with a certificate of authenticity and unique vin# assigned by the U.S. Department of Energy to that home.  This certification, increases the resale value of the home to monetize the energy and health investments.

A zero-energy home, also known as a zero net energy (ZNE) home, net zero home or zero-carbon home is a home with zero net energy consumption, meaning the total amount of energy used by the home on an annual basis is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the property.  These home consequently contribute less overall greenhouse gas to the atmosphere than similar non-ZNE homes. They do at times consume non-renewable energy and produce greenhouse gases, but at other times reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas production elsewhere by the same amount.

Net-Zero construction typically adds 5-10% to the cost of a traditionally built home.  Many owners find that the slight rise in a monthly mortgage payment is more than offset by the decrease in monthly energy bills.  The net result is a total monthly expense that's about the same for a better built, higher- performing, longer lasting, more comfortable, quiet and healthier home.

These homes provide a thermally sealed envelope reducing energy bills as much as 80%, in a Net-Zero Ready Home and reducing energy bills to as little as nothing in a Net-Zero Home. A Net-Zero Ready Home is the same as a Net-Zero Home without the solar panels installed. All ATB's homes come pre-wired for solar panels.  Compared to traditional homes, our Net-Zero homes are superior structures resistant to tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, forest fires and termites, while delivering lower overall operational cost and lower frequency of maintenance.
